Elm City ChamberFest | New Haven, CT
|
Founded in the summer of 2005, Elm City ChamberFest is an intensive two-week chamber music program for intermediate to advanced string and piano students aged 8 – 18. In order to maintain our intensive learning environment, ECCF strives to keep a student to faculty ratio of 5 to 1. The small class and ensemble size enables students and faculty to focus closely together on strengthening a variety of chamber music techniques, ranging from something as straightforward as basic ensemble skills to striving towards exceptional weekly performances of challenging chamber music repertoire. In addition to daily coachings and weekly lessons with our esteemed faculty, we include a series of faculty and guest artist master classes in our students’ weekly schedules. It is also part of the ECCF philosophy that a well-rounded chamber music experience comes from an exposure to a variety of additional art forms, which is why we have incorporated classes from other musical genres into our curriculum, such as Jazz and Klezmer, as well as movement and theater classes. To further enrich our students’ two weeks, we have evening faculty concerts that give students the opportunity to observe our highly accomplished faculty with our prominent guest artists in live performance.
